JOHN 4:13

“Earthly Happiness”

Jesus said to her “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again”. If any man drinks water from the well of Jacob, he will thirst again; so also all the pleasures of the world! Today, men and women who drink this water are satisfied for some time. Later they will thirst again, drink again, thirst again, drink again, thirst again. And this is never ending.

There are several things which are good in their own respective places. But man’s spirit is spiritual and not physical or earthly. Thirst in the spirit of man cannot be quenched or satisfied with worldly things, objects, pleasures, or happiness. For example: wealth, name & fame, great authority, delicious food, big buildings, properties, precious stones, most expensive things from foreign countries. You name it; it can never satisfy the spirit of man. Because the spirit of man is in the image of God. God is spirit and therefore only GOD can give real lasting satisfaction and joy.

One man tried to satisfy himself with the above mentioned things . See what is said at the end. Proverbs. 30 : 15 “the leech has two daughters: give and give.

1. Wisdom: (Eccl.1:16)  I communed with my own heart, saying Lo, I have come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem. Yea my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge. ….. I perceived that this also is a vexation of spirit

2. Pleasures: (Eccl.2:1)  I said in my heart, go to now, I will prove the with mirth therefore enjoy pleasure: behold this also is a vanity.

3. Buildings: (Eccl.2:4)  I builded me houses.

4. Properties & possessions,  planted me vineyards: (Eccl.2:5)  I made me gardens and the orchards, and I planted trees in all kinds of fruits.  I had great possessions of great and small

5. Man power: (Eccl.2:7)   I got me Servants and Maidens more than anyone

6. Wealth (Gold& Silver): (Eccl.2:8)  I gathered silver and gold, peculiar treasures of kings.

7. Sex (women):  (I Kings 11:1)  But king Solomon loved many strange women together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of Moabites Ammonites , Edomites , Zidonians and the Hittites (Verse 2)  Solomon clave unto these in love (Verse 3) and he had 700 wives and princesses and 300 concubines. (Eccl.2:10) and whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them.

SOLOMON’S CONCLUSION (Eccl.2:11)  Then I looked on all the works that my hands and wrought, and on the labour that I have laboured to do: and behold all was vanity and vexation of spirit and no profit under the sun.

No King on earth ever was equal to King Solomon in any given worldly things and pleasures.

Nowadays people are trying happiness and pleasure through various means -Drinking, Drugs, Debachelory (Pornography, Christian Polygamy),  Sexual perversion. Deceiving, Cheating, Stealing, Luxury lifestyle. Also many more things.

THEY LIVE SHORT.   But none of the worldly things will ever fully satisfy the human heart/spirit . Only GOD can give true happiness and joy. Jesus Christ said in Luke’s gospel “Take heed, and beware of covetousness : for man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth”(12:15)

SO, TRUE LIFE AND HAPPINESS ARE FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST. We cannot on our own get out of these worldly things. If someone wants to get freedom from these, come to Christ , confess your sins to Christ, get washed in his blood; commit your life to him He will give forgive all sins & give true happiness and peace. May the HOLY SPIRIT of God give Grace 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼

Doctrinal Statement

Bible

We believe that the Bible is the word of God.(Revelation-Inspiration-Illumination)

Godhead

We believe in one triune God, existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternal in being, identical in essence, equal in power and glory, and having the same divine attributes and perfections; yet exercising them in varied offices. (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 14:7-11)

Person and Work of Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; John 1:1, 2, 14, 18)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that all who receive Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. (Romans 3:24-26; I Corinthians 15:3-4)

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ, and in His bodily ascension into heaven where he ministers for us as High Priest and Intercessor. (I Corinthians 15:12-19; Hebrews 4:14-16; 7:23-25)

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, equal with the Father and the Son, and of the same substance and nature. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:8-11). He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption (I Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14).

Salvation and Regeneration

We believe that salvation is a gift of God brought to men by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is solely through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and cannot be earned by any good works. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12)

We believe that the obtaining of salvation is impossible apart from a personal voluntary choice of the sinner. (John 3:16)

We believe that the Scriptures teach that regeneration, or the new birth, is that change in the soul by the Holy Spirit, by which a new nature and spiritual life not before possessed are imparted, and the person becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus. (II Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5)

Eternal Security

We believe that the salvation of every believer is secure for all eternity from the moment of regeneration. (John 10:27-30; Ephesians 4:30)

Sanctification

We believe that positional sanctification is the act of God whereby believers are, at the time of regeneration, eternally set apart as belonging to Him, thereby being placed in the family of God as His children. This is victory over the penalty of sin. (I John 3:1; Romans 8:14-17)

We believe that progressive sanctification is the process by which we are made partakers of His holiness; that it begins at regeneration; that it progresses as the believer is yielded to the Spirit’s control; that it’s carried on in believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God. This is victory over the power of sin. (I Thessalonians 4:3; John 17:17)

We believe that ultimate sanctification takes place when, in the presence of the Lord, we will have soul and spirit united in a resurrected body free from every trace or effect of sin and rebellion. This is victory over the presence of sin.
 (1 John 3:2; Ephesians 4:30).
